Review Today's Appointments and Check-In Patients

This tutorial will demonstrate how to review a list of today's scheduled appointments, as well as ways to begin a patient's appointment using a typical check-in workflow.

Today's Patients: Toolbar View

A list of today's scheduled patients can be accessed by clicking "Today's Patients" in the toolbar at the top of your screen. This toolbar remains accessible from any tab in your Vision(X) site.

The review list of all scheduled patient appointments will appear as an overlaid menu. Patients that have already been checked-in will appear in the top half of this menu, while patients who are scheduled for appointments today will appear in the bottom half:

Alternatively, users can review a list of today's patients will appear by default when viewing the Schedule tab:

Update Patient Appointment Status:

Each patient's Appointment Status can be viewed in the Appointment Status/Exam Status column. Click the drop-down menu to manually adjust any appointment's status:

Select the check box next to any patient's name from the list of today's appointments to view the Details menu for that appointment. This menu includes options to check in, reschedule, or cancel the appointment, as well as to take a patient pre-payment, generate a QR code for ease of access to their intake questionnaire, and to launch the EHR with that patient's profile selected. Click "Check In" to initiate the patient appointment:

Next, review all required patient information fields, which are marked with a blue asterisk. Additional patient information can also be entered and/or edited at this time. Patient information can also be edited at any time from the Patients tab. When finished, click "Next":

Attachments and Notes

Next, review any attachments and/or notes for this appointment. File attachments can be added to this appointment record using the "Upload" button in the Attachments field. Notes on this appointment record can also be added using the "+ Add Note" button in the Notes field. Once all attachments and notes have been added to the appointment record, click "Complete Check-In":

Notes saved to the appointment record will not appear on the patient's exam record, should one be created as part of this appointment.

Success!

A dialog box will inform you that the patient is now checked-in for the appointment, and their appointment status will automatically change to "Checked-In":
