In order to bill items to insurance on behalf of a patient, the patient's insurance plan details must first be logged as part of their general profile. This tutorial will demonstrate how to add and edit patients' insurance payers in Vision(X).
Select a Patient Profile
Select a patient profile The "Search Patient" field is always visible at the top of your Vision(X) site. Select this field to search for any patient by name:
Alternatively, users can select a patient from Today's Appointments list, or from the Patients tab directly:
Patient Insurances List
When viewing a patient profile, their list of insurance payers is visible on the right-hand side of your screen. Click "Add New" to open the menu:
Enter All Required Selections
Required fields are marked with a blue asterisk. Insurance carriers can be added to your site When all required fields have been completed, click "Save":
After saving, the patient's insurance payer will appear in their "Insurance" tab list. Use the drop-down arrow toggle to view or hide details for any payer, or click the ellipses for options to clone or remove the payer, to make a benefits request, or to view a previous benefits request. The patient's complete lists of active/inactive insurances can be viewed by using the toggle in the upper-right of the menu:
If adding another insurance to this list, click "Add Insurance" and enter the requisite information for the next payer. If you have no more insurances to add at this time, click the "X" to close the menu and return to the default view of the patient's profile:
