How to Create a New Appointment from a Patient Profile

This tutorial will demonstrate how to create a new appointment directly from a patient profile.

Select a Patient Profile

Select a patient profile. The "Search Patient" field is always visible at the top of your Vision(X) site. Select this field to search for any patient by name:

Alternatively, users can select a patient from Today's Appointments list, or from the Patients tab directly:

When viewing a patient profile, look to "Create New" bar in the upper-half of the screen. Select the "Appt." tab from the four available options, then "Add New" to open the menu:

NOTE: This menu is timed in order to accommodate your other appointment booking streams (such as online bookings.) Be sure to complete this task in the time allotted, or else you will need to start over.

The appointment builder window will now open. Using the menus provided, enter information for required fields (marked by the blue asterisk). Time slot options that fit your selected date and time parameters are visible to the right. When finished editing required fields, click "Next":

Review Appointment Details

Review all appointment details. Should any field need to be edited, click "Back" to return to the previous screen, or click "Cancel" to close this menu and return to the Patient's profile with no appointment saved. Otherwise, click "Schedule Appointment" to confirm all details:

The Appointment is Now Saved!

You will receive a message confirming that the appointment has been saved.

The appointment can now be viewed on the Patient's profile in the "Appointments" box, where you will also find options to add attachments, view notes on the appointment record, or add another appointment booking:
