Navigating the Patients Tab

The Patients tab can be used to quickly locate patient profile pages containing important personal and billing information, as well as patient-specific histories of engagement with your practice (appointments, prescriptions, etc.) This article will highlight a few of the features of this portion of your Vision(X) site.

Locate the Patients Tab

Vision(X) users are first shown the Home tab whenever they log in. Individual patient profile pages can be quickly searched using the "Search Patient" field, or by selecting from a list of today's scheduled patients using the "Today's Patients" menu.

In order to view the patients tab directly, click the Patient icon beneath the Home tab on the vertical menu on the left-hand side of your screen.

Patients List Tab

Users will see a list of patients in order of how recently they have viewed each patient's page.

The number of patient profiles that appear in this window can be adjusted using the "Show per page" options menu at the bottom of the screen, and all patients not listed on this first screen can be viewed using the page navigation arrows in the lower-right of the screen:

At-a-glance information is represented in columns indicating each patient's status for your practice (active or inactive), name, date of birth, locality relative to the practice, preferred practice location, and contact options (if any have been saved to the patient's details.)

The ellipses column can be clicked to access "Create New" options for patient appointment, benefits authorizations, Rx orders, invoices, and/or pre-payments.

Click any patient name to view their individual profile:

Patient Profile Tab

The patient's profile opens in a new tab at the top of your screen, next to the Patients List tab button. You can return to the Patients List at any time to select another patient profile, and each individual patient profile will remain open in its own tab on this line until actively closed by the user:

Basic information is displayed in the patient name box, including at-a-glance numbers for any outstanding balance owed and/or pre-payment credit on their account. To edit patient details, click the patient's name in the first information box beneath the tabs list. When finished editing, click "Save" to return to the patient profile:

Create New Bar

Quick-launch options are available to create a new Rx Order, Invoice, Pre-Payment, or Appointment:

Prescriptions

A list of all prescriptions issued for this patient at your practice appear here:

Linked Accounts

Patient profiles can be linked to display relationships that may be necessary for billing to dependent insurances:

Appointments List

This box displays the patient's complete history of appointments at your practice. Click the information fields for any appointment to perform actions such as updating appointment an status, launch the patient intake form, add notes on the appointment record, create and/or reschedule an appointment:

Transactions List

This box displays the patient's complete history of transactions (Rx Orders, Invoices, and Insurance Claims) at your practice. Use the toggle to select the type of transaction, then click applicable info fields for available actions (such as paying an outstanding invoice balance):

Notes, Alerts, Tasks, and Recalls

View or create notes for the patient profile, alerts for the patient, tasks related to this patient, and/or patient recalls here:

Patient Insurance List

This box offers a quick view of patient insurances. Click to view/add current insurance payers/plans and history of benefits requests/inactive insurances:

Patient Documents List

Files related to the patient (but not a specific exam documentation) can be saved and viewed here:
