Make a Return and Issue a Patient Refund

There are two steps to performing a Return and Refund:

  1. Return the original invoice which creates a Patient Available Credit
  2. Give a Refund from the Invoice Ledger

Make the Return

1. Locate the Patient

2. From the Patients tab > Scroll to Invoices on the Summary tab > Click original Invoice to open

3. The invoice opens > Click Return

4. Select checkboxes for the items to be Remade/Reordered > Select a return Reason > Click Return Selected Items

5. A second Invoice is created with the returned amounts added as credits. Click Save to close the Returned Invoice.

6. The original Invoice is displayed > Click Close

You should see two invoices. One is the "Return" invoice and the other is the "Original" invoice.

If you do not see two invoices, refresh the browser.

Give the Refund

7. Click Ledger on the Patient tab

8. Click the Invoice line to select and highlight

9. Click Give Refund

10. Enter the Refund Details > Click Save and Print
